Branching Out is a small local social enterprising charity based in Littleport and Chatteris in East Anglia. Our main focus is working and supporting people with mild and challenging learning disabilities and difficulties become intergraded in the community building their confidence in this we include helping the environment through recycling, work experience, providing recycled and cost effective items form our charity shops.
The social enterprise side of the charity has four small business working under Branching Out these include three charity shops, purpose built wood workshop, a market garden and recycling department for drink cans and foil. The work areas are manned by people with learning disabilities and difficulties giving then valuable work experience in a wide variety of work areas giving a unique learning experience. All the profits made in the business go straight back into the charity to help pay for running costs.
Education and work experience is embed thought all Branching Out activities. All our entry level education courses are run in partnership with Huntingdon Regional College based at Branching Out main site in Littleport. We offer a wide variety of person centred courses catered to the need of the individual including NPTC City and Guilds and the Pathfinder project. |
