Branching Out into the Future
The project is for an innovation centre aiming to work with other social enterprises or businesses willing to work in a social enterprise way. It will provide paid employment for adults with disabilities, showing customers and employers their skills. The farm shop will sell local produce and our own produce from our horticulture and woodwork departments. The project will give long term financial security to the charities existing activities.
How this will benefit the community
The project will provide approximately 10 full time equivalent jobs for adults with disabilities in a farm shop, coffee shop, recycling warehouse. It will also contain low cost business units, conference/meeting rooms, shared reception facilities, a trainer to help employers supporting people with disabilities into work. We will provide a free return bus ride for the elderly to the site
How we are getting on
We are currently fund raising to pay an architect to draw the building, apply for planning permission and purchase of the site. Over the next few years we are going to fund raise for the build costs. Branching Out is working with several interested organisations to help with expertise and other contributions.
I am sure you can see this project is going to make a huge difference to Branching Out and the people we support, if you would like to be involved please contact us.
