'The Sapling Project'

Why the “Sapling Project”?

Here at Branching out our ultimate goal is to get people work in real posts with a real wage to promote a more independent life. New service uses come to us in the workshop as a sapling keen and ready to develop it to a fully grown tree and Branch out into main stream employment.

What do we do?

As a small workshop we constantly develop new products for service users to produce. We welcome opportunities to quote for one of projects to large runs for domestic or commercial projects.

How do we do it?

The key word is fun. We work as a team on all tasks helping and encouraging each other when needed. This aids in the development of new skills and techniques. We also understand that sometimes there are boundaries that can not be crossed and we respect that while encouraging and enticing people to try new things.

Are we safe?

Safety is our number one priority we have a zero tolerance policy in the workshop. Personal protection equipment (ppe) must be worn by staff and service users, some of which is provide by Branching out. Safe systems of work are in place and constantly reviewed and updated. If one to one assistance is required then that can be done and a person who is competent with all tools and machines is available.

Some of the projects that you will be undertake with us are Bird boxes, Garden and Footpath benches, Custom made pet (Dog, Cat, Chicken ect) houses built to suit your needs, Garden games, Planters.

We also pride our selves on our hand carved signs made using age old technique instead of machines.
